When it comes to your school’s community, whether that be at your high school or college, staying informed with updates, news, and information can be extremely important. Staying up to date with what’s going on at your school can be helpful for your safety. It can also benefit you socially. It may seem overwhelming not knowing where to start, but using your school’s resources, you can stay informed and figure out what opportunities you have to help out within your community.

Stay informed with the email updates from your university. The number of emails may seem annoying, but your university’s email notifications can sometimes be the best way to stay up to date with important announcements and safety information. You will have it at the tip of your fingers, and you will be notified as soon as administrators send out information.

Get involved in your school’s online forum. Not every school has an online forum, but  if yours does, take advantage of it. This is a great way to interact with school staff and other students. You may find opportunities to help out your school, and a forum is one of the best ways to get information quickly.

Reach out to the school council to see if you can be of assistance. Your school council is there to help. They will be there to guide you and let you know if there is any important information that you should be aware of, or if there are projects in which you can participate.

Get involved in organizations that do extra curricular activities to help the school or plan events. This is a great way to become part of the community at your school and meet new people. Also, if there is something that you want to change or improve at your school, an organization is a great way to start.

There are numerous ways to help out at your school and stay up to date with important information. You just have to put yourself out there. Get involved, stay informed, and make a change.
